Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in network engineering and administration, overseeing the planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, updating, and maintenance of wired and wireless networks.
- Collaborate as part of a team to provide support to end users across various sites, including office and manufacturing environments.
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service by responding to and following up on requests promptly, exceeding customer expectations.
- Take initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement and streamlining processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Interact with team members at all levels, from senior leadership to entry-level production, maintaining a professional and confidential demeanor.
- Support wired/wireless network infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring seamless operations.
- Stay current on technology trends and industry developments to implement best practices.
- Support departmental goals and initiatives, contributing to overall organizational success.
- Establish and maintain a robust security posture through VLANs, ACLs, firewalls, 802.1X RADIUS, DMZ, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor, schedule, and apply updates outside of normal business hours to address security, reliability, or functionality issues.
- Collaborate as a member of project teams responsible for network infrastructure and related initiatives.
- Work with external providers, such as ISP, A/V, Security, and HVAC vendors, to support their devices on the organization’s networks.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, IP addresses, ISP info, and other critical network information within the ITSM platform.
- Install, modify, and make minor repairs to hardware and software, providing support for various technologies, including computers, mobile devices, videoconferencing systems, and peripherals.
- Develop and maintain procedures and documentation to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering and administration, including planning, configuring, installing, troubleshooting, updating, and maintaining wired and wireless networks.
- CCNA, CCNP, or similar certification is a definite plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide support outside of regular business hours when needed.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for network and system issues.
- Experience with specific technologies and platforms, including Meraki MX, MS MR, Cisco Umbrella, SentinelOne EDR/XDR, authentication systems (Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, OAuth, SAML, SSO), Industrial IoT environments, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Microsoft 365, and VMware.
