The Inventory Control Specialist is accountable for executing daily inventory / cycle counts, ensuring all items are accurately counted and performed according to documented procedures, communicating and engage effectively with Materials team members and escalate and report issues appropriately.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels and identify any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Help generate purchase orders for buyers based on inventory needs and demand.
- Collaborate with purchasers to ensure timely procurement of goods and materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate action to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Conduct periodic audits to verify inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports on stock levels, turnover, and other relevant metrics.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems and software.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize inventory flow and minimize carrying costs.
- Assist with the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Provide back up support to the Production Planner role.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory role.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
