Plant Manager

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field is a plus. 
  • Proven experience (minimum 7-10 years) in a plant management role within the metal stamping industry, preferably in the automotive environment. 
  • In-depth knowledge of metal stamping processes, equipment, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment. 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration and maintain strong relationships with associates.

Job Details: 

  • Plan, organize, and direct all manufacturing activities in the metal stamping plant to achieve  quality standards, production goals, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Monitor and optimize production processes, ensuring efficiency, minimal downtime, and timely delivery of products to customers.  
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvements methodologies to  enhance productivity and reduce waste. 
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes adhere to safety regulations, quality assurance  protocols, and industry standards.  
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement effective quality control measures  and drive initiatives to achieve zero-defect production. 
  • Build and lead a skilled team of production supervisors, maintenance, tool room supervisors, materials manager, and technicians, fostering a positive work environment, professional  development, and teamwork.  
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary resources  and training to perform effectively. 
  • Oversee a safety-first culture within the plant and implementation of safety procedures. Make  sure there is compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.  





Automation/Machine Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer conducts research, develops, and designs mechanical components, equipment, and systems while planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure that project quality, cost, and timing goals are accomplished.

Requirements:

  • Passion for creating innovative machine designs for custom factory automation.
  • Experience using 3D CAD Software to design systems that include robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and many other mechanical devices.
  • Ability to analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements to meet the needs of companies all over North America.
  • Flexibility to make frequent changes initiated by customers or internal contributors.
  • Initiative to collaborate with Controls Engineers and Manufacturing teams to develop optimal design solutions.
  • Desire to plan and develop experimental test programs and analyze test data and determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Creative mindset and mechanical inclination.
  • Personal sense of ownership and commitment to initial quality and support for issues that arise.
  • A high standard of integrity.
  • An ability to use creative problem-solving skills to help provide rock solid solutions to our customers.
  • Four-year degree in Engineering, flexible if good experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in automation equipment design.

Production Supervisor

The Supervisor position is responsible for executing a tactical strategy that moves the organization toward the short-term strategic objectives. The Supervisor focuses on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and people development while driving continuous improvement through the Management System and Hoshin execution. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure team members understand and follow all safety policies creating a safe culture for all Operations team members and visitors. 
  • Tactical execution to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and to develop team members. 
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the team members using the Chari Performance System (CPS). 
  • Establish and maintain a proactive tempo of problem solving addressing and/or identifying difficult and complex situations. 
  • Solving daily struggles by conducting root-cause analysis with the goal of finding countermeasures that resolve the problem and best serves the Customer.
  • Support the execution and deployment of a lean culture.
  • Define, implement, and insure all required visual management tools are in place and being used.
  • Foster a customer focused, results oriented, and high-performance environment. 
  • Support the launch of new products by partnering with Engineering teams to ensure new products and upgrades are brought to market quickly, meet customer quality requirements, and support company’s profitability goals. 
  • Write and maintain operational controls that are deployed effectively to drive process and equipment efficiencies. 
  • Identify opportunities to reduce both process and product costs.
  • Analyze workforce capacity to meet customer demand.
  • Work with Human Resources and Leadership to identify the developmental needs of team members. 
  • Create and execute plans for the department, and individuals in the department, to support learning needs.
  • Maintain areas to a 5S standards while always being “tour ready.” 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years leading in operations environments or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of two years leading and furthering a lean culture that utilizes lean methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Effective leader of people who can articulate a vision that inspires and motivates followership.
  • Able to build trusting relationships with Operations team members and leaders across the organization.
  • Proven experience developing and coaching direct reports with a focus on results, lean thinking, and people development.
  • Efficient in using common computer programs like Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience using ERP systems.



Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist is accountable for executing daily inventory / cycle counts, ensuring all items are accurately counted and performed according to documented procedures, communicating and engage effectively with Materials team members and escalate and report issues appropriately.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels and identify any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Help generate purchase orders for buyers based on inventory needs and demand.
  • Collaborate with purchasers to ensure timely procurement of goods and materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate action to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Conduct periodic audits to verify inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory data and generate reports on stock levels, turnover, and other relevant metrics.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems and software.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to optimize inventory flow and minimize carrying costs.
  • Assist with the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Provide back up support to the Production Planner role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

 

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory role.  
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
